Pullis Rumours Surface Again

Rumours are rife in the internet world of a possible return to Stoke for Argyle gaffer Tony Pullis.  They come after the news of a takeover of Pullis' former club by former chairman, and keen admirer of Pullis, Peter Coates.  Coates has been rumoured to have said he would be very keen to work again with Pullis with whom he had a succesful partnership with in his previous time at the club.  Although there has been no official comment from either party regarding the rumours the old saying of there's no smoke without fire is cropping up on a number of Argyle and Stoke messageboards.  Tony has had a very succesful time since taking over from previous manager Bobby Williamson having ensured Argyle's Championship survival and finishing the season in 14th place.

Pilgrim Pericard?

Vincent Pericard ended his loan period at Argyle following the end of season 2-1 victory over Ipswich.  Since then he has spoken both to Harry Redknapp at his home club of Portsmouth and to Argyle over his future.  At this present time Pericard is keeping his options open as to whether he does indeed return to Argyle as a summer transfer signing or whether he stays at Portsmouth and fights for a place in Redknapp's Premiership team.  Pericard scored 4 goals in 15 appearances for the Greens including a hat-trick in his Home debut for the club against Coventry.  At the moment Pericard is enjoying a summer holiday but has promised to call Pullis sith his decision in a week or two.

Lasley Off To The Seaside

Out of favour midfielder Keith Lasley is set to make his loan move to league one side Blackpool a permanent transfer having enjoyed a succesful time with the club during the last few months.  Lasley is out of contract in the summer and has been told by Tony Pullis he will not be offered a new deal.  Since Pullis took over in September Lasley has not started a first team match for Argyle having been signed by former manager Bobby Williamson from Motherwell in 2004.

Doumbe Deal

Argyle's popular central defender Matt Doumbe has signed a new 2 year deal with the club which will keep him at Argyle until 2008.  Despite strong interest from other clubs he has decided to extend his stay with the Pilgrims.  Doumbe was present in most of Argyle's matches last season putting in some superb performances at the centre of Argyle's defence.  For his efforts in this he was 3rd in Argyle's player of the year awards.
